1962: Former NHL defenseman Chris Dahlquist born in Fridley, MN. Dahlquist played in the NHL 1985-86 through 1995-96 with Pittsburgh, the Minnesota North Stars, Calgary and Ottawa.
1968: Minnesota North Stars set a franchise record for fastest two goals when Parker MacDonald and Bill Collins combined to score in a span of :20 during the second period of a 4-1 win over the visiting NY Rangers.
1974: Jude Drouin had three assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 4-2 win over Buffalo at the Met Center.
1975: Stan Gilbertson scored two goals and added an assist as the Capitals tied 4-4 with the visiting Minnesota North Stars.
1977: Glen Sharpley had three assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 3-2 win over the Canadiens at the Met Center.
1984: Minnesota North Stars traded Brent Ashton along with Brad Maxwell to the Quebec Nordiques, in exchange for Tony McKegney and Bo Berglund.
1984: Except for a U.S. Olympic or National team, the St. Paul Vulcans become the first hockey team to play inside Czechoslovakia during a three week tour as guests of the Czechoslovakian Ice Hockey Federation from (December 14, 1984 – January 4, 1985)
1985: Ron Wicks officiated his 1,034th regular season game, in Minnesota, to pass Bruce Hood as the all time leader in NHL games officiated by a referee. North Stars tied 6-6 with Toronto.
1985: Brian Bellows and Scott Bjugstad each scored twice and added an assist as the North Stars tied 6-6 with the Maple Leafs in Minnesota. Miroslav Frycer had a goal and three assists for Toronto.
1986: Reed Larson scored a goal and added two assists to lead the Bruins to a 6-2 win against the Nordiques, in Quebec City.
1986: Phil Housley collected his 300th career NHL point as the Sabres won 4-3 over the Hartford Whalers, in Buffalo to end a 7 game winless streak (0-6-1).
1992: Minnesota North Stars signed Reid Simpson as a free agent.
2001: Despite being outshot 41-21 by the Penguins ,Minnesota’s Manny Fernandez made 39 saves and Sergei Zholtok scored twice as the Wild won 5-2 at Pittsburgh.
2002: Minnesota’s Andrew Brunette scored the 100th goal of his NHL career in a 3-1 loss at Nashville.
2007: Minesota Wild scored 4 power play goals in the second period of a 5-2 win at Anaheim.
2008: Defenseman Jordan Leopold scored on a penalty shot and added an assist to lead the Avalanche to a 3-2 win at Detroit.
2008: Marc-Andre Bergeron tied a Minnesota team record for defensemen by taking 7 shots for the Wild, scoring once in a 4-2 loss in Anaheim.
