1968:  Minnesota’s Cesare Maniago recorded his 7th career shutout and Andre Boudrias tied a team record with 20 minutes in one period during the North Stars’ 3-0 win at Philadelphia.

1969:  Bill Goldsworthy scored twice to lead the North Stars to a 3-2 win over the Kings in Minnesota.

1969:  Former NHL left winger Steve Maltais born in Arvida, Que.  Maltais played in the NHL 1989-90 through 2000-01 with Washington, the Minnesota North Stars, Tampa Bay, Detroit and Columbus.

1972:  The 25th NHL All-Star game held at the Metropolitan Sports Center in Bloomington, MN.  It was the first and only time the All-Star game was held at the Met Center.  Minnesota North Stars players Bill Goldsworthy, Ted Harris, Doug Mohns and Gump Worsley all played for the West Division All-Star team whom lost to the East Division 3-2.  Bobby Orr was named the games Most Valuable Player.

1974:  Dennis Hextall scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 5-4 win over the Canucks at Vancouver.

1975:  Dennis Hextall scored a goal and added two assists to lead the Minnesota North Stars to a 4-1 win over the Kansas City Scouts at the Met Center.

1982:  Minnesota’s Bobby Smith scored his 4th career hat trick and added two assists, Dino Ciccarelli had two goals and two assists in the second period and Craig Hartsburg set a team record for defensemen with 4 assists as the North Stars won 9-2, at Toronto.

2002:  Anaheim coach Bryan Murray picked up his 500th career NHL victory, and Matt Cullen scored twice and added an assist, while Oleg Tverdovsky added three assists in a 6-1 win over the Stars at Dallas.

2011:  Anaheim’s Jason Blake celebrated his 800th career NHL game by scoring his 200th career goal as the Ducks scored on their first two shots of the game and went on to beat the Blue Jackets 3-2 in Columbus.

2011:  Minnesota Wild ended their 0-11-1 record when trailing after the first period, as they came from behind to beat the Blackhawks 4-2 in Chicago.  It was also their 14th road victory of the season, one more than all of the previous season.

2014:  The University of Minnesota Gophers win the inaugural North Star Cup in OT vs. the University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs in a shoot-out.

2014:  Minnesota Wild defenseman, and Baudette Minnesota native Keith Ballard scores his first goal in a Wild sweater vs. the San Jose Sharks en-route to a 2-0 Wild win on the road.

2014:  Jason Pominville became the 52nd active NHL player to reach 500 points (209 Goals, 291 Assists) on his helper to Keith Ballards first goal with the Wild vs the Sharks.
