LIVE: End of the 2nd period RECAP

Minnesota jumped out early with a goal from Bjugstad in the second period; however, the Huskies came roaring back with two goals of their own before the 2nd period came to a close. Tempers are starting to rise as the Gophers are getting frustrated down by 3 goals. Expect more physical play from both teams entering the 3rd period.

Highlights in the 2nd include a great goal by Chad Pietila which prompted a goalie change from Minnesota — removing Junior Mike Shibrowski for Freshman Adam Wilcox. It will be interesting to see how this will change Lucia’s strategy of alternating the two goalies each weekend. A second goal by Blake Pietila put the Huskies up by 3 which should please his NHL team, the New Jersey Devils.
