Second annual golf tourney raises funds for kids to attend hockey camps.
Near perfect weather and beautiful conditions at Pheasant Hills Golf Course were the backdrop for the 2nd Annual MHM .com Foundation Golf Tournament on Friday, August 8, in Hammond, Wisc.
The scramble tournament was well attended by over 60 enthusiastic golfers and raised funds to assist Minnesota youth looking to attend hockey development camps or training centers but who could not afford to do so on their own. In conjunction with several organizations like the Wounded Warriors, Defending the Blue Line, Grant Potulny’s hockey camp, the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes), the Lumberyard and others, the MHM .com Foundation continues to work to make attending these camps possible for the less fortunate with a passion for the game.
A noon shotgun start began the festivities that included many on-course games/contests, and concluded with a home cooked dinner, registration and raffle drawings and a silent auction. The Acceleration Minnesota team won the event with an impressive round of -18. while two teams tied for second with low rounds of -14.
A lifetime achievement award was presented to John Mausolf, long time youth hockey coach and mentor from Cottage Grove.
MN Hockey Mag is very grateful to many sponsors and advertisers and to those that donated their time and resources to make the event possible and successful.
