St. Cloud State University announced today that former Bloomington Jefferson, SCSU, and Minnesota Wild/NHL forward Mark Parrish will be joining KMSP-TV sports director and Huskies’ play-by-play voice, Jim Rich, as an analyst on the Husky Productions’ telecasts of home St. Cloud State men’s hockey games in 2012-13.

Parrish, who registered 42 goals and 72 points in 74 games over two seasons with the Huskies from 1995-97, earned All-American honors in 1997. The 6′ 0″, 200 lb winger skated for seven NHL teams, registering nearly 400 points in 749 games and represented the N.Y. Islanders in the 2002 NHL All-Star Game.

“Being asked to provide commentary for my alma mater is a real thrill,” Parrish said in a statement released by the St. Cloud State athletics department.   “I look forward to watching SCSU men’s hockey this year and hopefully some NHL stars of tomorrow.

“I’m incredibly excited to join Jim in the announcers’ booth and work with Husky Productions.”

All 20 regular season home games at the National Hockey and Event Center in 2012-13 will be televised live by Husky Productions.  The telecasts will be available live on Charter Cable Channel 87 in the St. Cloud area this season.
