1967: The expansion Minnesota North Stars improved to 4-1-0 in their first NHL preseason, after a 4-3 win over the Oakland Seals, in a game played at Kingston, Ontario.
2001: Minnesota Wild signed Kyle Wanvig.
2011: Mike Modano announced his retirement from the NHL, after 21 seasons with the Minnesota North Stars, the Dallas Stars and Detroit.
